Public Tours March 1 through December 31
Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Public tours are either self-guided or docent-led, guided tours are approximately 75 minutes in length.

Tickets for self-guided tours are available throughout the day from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., the house remains open until 5:00 p.m.

Guided house tours are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

(Tour times subject to change, please call ahead regarding Saturday afternoon tours from May through September)

Salisbury House & Gardens extends a special welcome to tour groups!
Group Tours are offered when requested at least two weeks in advance for groups of 10 or more. Group tours are also available year round, including January and February.

Friendship Force Tour Group

Schedule a Group Tour or Motor Coach Tours

Salisbury House & Gardens extends a special welcome to tour groups! Group Tours are offered when requested at least two weeks in advance for groups of 10 or more. Group tours are also available in January and February.  

Motor Coach guests may exit the coach in the parking lot, or the coach may drive up near the Visitor Center area on the northwest side of the house, and guests may exit there. There are no vertical limitations on coaches.

Group Educational Tours

Group Educational Tours welcome

Fee: $3 per student

Please make every effort to schedule Group Educational Tours three or more weeks in advance of the date requested. Contact Salisbury House & Gardens at 515.274.1777 or e-mail Leo Landis at llandis@salisburyhouse.org. Group tours may be scheduled for other days of the week, please contact Leo Landis for arrangements.

Location - Salisbury House & Gardens is located in Des Moines, Iowa. Situated in the heart of the city, it is easily accessed from I -235 in Des Moines, exiting south on 42nd Street, then turning east on Tonawanda Drive.
