Can I tour Salisbury House & Gardens?
Yes! See Your Visit for tour schedule and information for individuals and groups.

Is the House accessible to people with disabilities?
Yes. There is an elevator to second floor, and restrooms are handicapped accessible. There are three stair steps, however, from the Great Hall to the Common Room.

Can I take pictures of the mansion and grounds?
We don’t allow photography inside the Salisbury House & Gardens, but you are welcome to take pictures of the exterior, or anywhere on the grounds. Professional photography must be approved by the staff.

Who owns Salisbury House & Gardens?
Salisbury House & Gardens is owned by the Salisbury House Foundation. It was purchased in 1998 from the Iowa State Education Association (ISEA), who moved out in 1999 serving as their headquarters since 1954.

Are private events held in the House and Grounds?
Yes, individual and organizations hold a variety of meetings, receptions and other events here. Salisbury House & Gardens is also a frequent venue for weddings. Call 515.274.1777 for more information.
