Salisbury House Foundation offers free admission to home education groups

DES MOINES, IA (February 2018) " Salisbury House Foundation is pleased to offer 100 eligible students in home education groups free admission through funding graciously provided by a Prairie Meadows Community Betterment Grant.

Salisbury Foundation strives to provide educational opportunities and access to diverse learning groups. This program is focused on engaging home education groups in the culture and history of Salisbury House through grade-appropriate, hour-long guided tours of the historic house museum. 

Interested home education groups are required to complete a Home Education Tour Application that is available online at  Applicants will be approved on a first-come, first served basis and are contingent upon meeting the eligibility requirements listed below.


  • Participating groups must be 20 students or less.
  • Guided tours are only offered to groups with 10 or more students (10 or less may participate in self-guided tours).
  • Groups must be able to verify their current home education status.
  • Each group must have 1 chaperone for every 10 students.
  • Tour is scheduled 3-weeks in advance of the tour date with the Foundation office.
  • Salisbury House Foundation requests that groups only include students ages 6 years and older.
