Event Details

Kick off the Halloween season with Mysteries & Movies after Dark on Saturday, Oct. 19, hosted by the Salisbury House Young Professionals.

Join us for drinks, snacks, spooky stories and movies from 7-10 p.m. for a fun, casual way to get into the spirit of season.

You’ll enter the Salisbury House through a secret underground tunnel for a truly eerie start to the evening. Sip wine and mingle with your fellow YPs before a screening of “Murder at Henderson Manor.” This short film, which is set entirely in the Salisbury House, stars Hud Weeks (son of House builders Carl and Edith Weeks) and his friends. It is an original film about a German spy attempting to secure a top secret document from the master of Henderson Manor. This may be your only chance to see this film!

Following the short film, we will be sharing spooky – and true – stories of Salisbury House lore and checking out some classic horror literature, such as poems by Edgar Allan Poe and “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley. Limited editions of these works are part of the Salisbury House library.

We’ll end the evening with popcorn, candy and laughs during a screening of Mel Brooks’ comedy classic “Young Frankenstein” starring Gene Wilder.

This is a 21-and-over event.

Please RSVP if you are planning to attend at salisburyhouseyp@gmail.com.
