Des Moines, Iowa– The Salisbury House Foundation is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $5,000 grant through Prairie Meadow’s 2017 Community Betterment Grant program. Grant funds will support Salisbury House Foundation’s Community Arts Connection (CAC) program and will enable expanded outreach efforts to traditionally underserved populations.
The CAC program has grown out of Salisbury House Foundation’s (SHF) belief that art, culture, and history are vital to the health of our community. Through the CAC, SHF provides regular educational and cultural programming as well as hosts over 20 public events each year. In alignment with the organizational mission, SHF offers our collections to community institutions as an academic resource, educating school groups, home school groups, college students and adult learners. With the support of Prairie Meadows, the CAC program will strengthen existing partnerships with local schools and organizations, bolster outreach efforts to alternative education groups, and continue to provide affordable cultural experiences to the broader community.
The Prairie Meadows Community Betterment program improves the lives of people in their communities by supporting the work of local organizations. This generous award by Prairie Meadows enables Salisbury House Foundation to continue fulfilling its mission by sharing unforgettable cultural experiences to the Greater Des Moines area and guests from around the world.
